Makaeel Sheikh

Makaeel leads NūrAI’s development of multimodal communication intelligence. Before founding Nūr, he worked as a scientist at Genentech and trained in biological research at the University of Pennsylvania.

Raheem Sheikh

Raheem is currently pursuing his PhD at the University of Pennsylvania, with a scientific background spanning behavioral neurobiology, translational biology, and human health. He brings that perspective to Nūr’s work across communication, behavior, and AI.

Elizabeth Shriberg, PhD

Elizabeth Shriberg, PhD is a leading scientist in spoken language technology and human machine communication. Her work spans prosody, conversational dynamics, emotion and cognitive state sensing, and the development of user aware AI systems that foster more natural and human centered interaction.

She has held senior roles at SRI International, Microsoft Research, and Amazon Alexa, and previously served as Chief Science Officer at Ellipsis Health where she led speech based mental health assessment. As a Senior Advisor at Nūr, Elizabeth guides the scientific foundations of vocal signal interpretation, ML validation, market and product readiness, and the integration of human behavior research into real world AI systems. Her career includes more than three decades of contributions to machine learning, affective computing, and conversational AI, as well as over 300 publications and patents.

Stacy Thal

Stacy Thal is the founder of Brand Brands Better. She is an executive-level Brand and Creative Strategist with more than 20 years of experience helping investors, founders, and marketing leaders sharpen positioning, clarify messaging, and build brands that accelerate growth.

Her background spans agency, consulting, and in-house leadership at Google, Walmart, and Yahoo, along with fractional leadership for dozens of startups and growth-stage companies. She is known for combining AI-enabled insights with human judgment to help organizations move faster with greater clarity, confidence, and focus. As a Senior Advisor at Nūr, Stacy provides strategic guidance on brand positioning, messaging, go-to-market strategy, and the human experience of AI. She helps ensure the company’s innovations are communicated with clarity, credibility, and empathy, translating complex technology into meaningful experiences that resonate with customers, partners, and investors.

Robert Whetstine

Robert Whetstine is a technology and cybersecurity executive with more than two decades of experience leading enterprise security, digital transformation, and technology strategy across Fortune 500 organizations, including The Walt Disney Company.

In addition to his executive leadership, Robert is a recognized educator, mentor, and thought leader, reaching millions through his cybersecurity advocacy, leadership content, and professional development initiatives. His work spans enterprise security, artificial intelligence, executive leadership, organizational growth, and the responsible adoption of emerging technologies. As a Senior Advisor at Nūr, Robert provides strategic guidance on enterprise technology, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, go-to-market strategy, and organizational growth. His experience leading large-scale technology organizations, building trusted teams, and translating complex technical concepts into practical business outcomes helps shape Nūr's mission to build the future of communication intelligence through AI.

Sydney Parriott is the founder of Speak Like a Professional and a licensed speech-language pathologist specializing in executive communication, public speaking, voice, and interpersonal communication. She works with executives, physicians, attorneys, entrepreneurs,

and professionals to strengthen their communication in high-stakes conversations, helping them speak with greater clarity, confidence, authenticity, and presence. Her work combines evidence-based speech science with practical coaching strategies to improve communication performance across leadership, business, and professional settings. As a Senior Advisor at Nūr, Sydney provides strategic guidance on speech science, communication methodology, platform validation, and the coaching experience. She helps ensure Nūr's communication intelligence framework remains grounded in research while delivering meaningful, actionable insights that support long-term communication growth for individuals, coaches, and organizations.
